Cranbourne Monday February 2
Heat 1 – Open Trial 1000m (1.01.00)
I really like Sabaj as a horse and think he could be a real sleeper for the Doncaster. Loved the way he closed off here, sitting back but closed with real purpose when third. He’s in for a big prep, which could culminate in a big race win.
Echuca Tuesday February 3
Heat 1 – Open Trial 1200m (1.12.70)
This was a very sharp trial win from Onesmoothoperator. Loved the way he ran to/through the line in winning the trial under Harry Coffey, winning comfortably and ran decent enough time. Not sure where he is heading, but for me, he’d be an ideal Tancred horse, so keen to see where he goes.
Warwick Farm Tuesday February 3
Heat 4 – Open Trial 1207m (1.14.47)
Really liked the trial from Soverato here for Chris Waller. Sat just off the speed, came inside and ran second to Oui Oui Oui under an absolute hold from Tommy Berry. I think she’s going to be a 2000m+ horse so she could be a Vinery/Oaks candidate. Lovely piece of work.
Heat 6 – Maiden Trial 1207m (1.16.14)
Stand My Ground looks a big horse, with plenty of maturing to come. But, he ran well in a hot maiden on debut in the Spring, spelled, and has returned with two trials, this being the latter. Moved well under light riding and I think is a coming maiden winner first up, ideally with good placement.
Canterbury Friday February 6
Heat 6- Open Trial 902m (54.74)
Gee I reckon Generosity is in for a big prep. That’s a couple of trials now from her where she has looked to absolutely jog and have plenty in hand. Connections are desperate to win a Group l…aim towards The Galaxy maybe? Keen to see where she heads.
