Seconds before the barriers opened for the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill, one TAB punter plonked $345,000 at $1.05 on Winx to win her 32nd straight race to make a $17,250 profit.
Winx held the record when the same customer three weeks ago placed $280,000 at $1.08 on her to win the TAB Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick.
Earlier today, one customer splashed $259,000 at $1.06 on Winx while a different punter wagered $230,000 at $1.06 on the world’s greatest horse 15 minutes before the running of the George Ryder Stakes.
“Winx’s total win hold on the George Ryder Stakes was just over $2.95 million which is the second-highest individual hold on her to win a race behind last year’s Cox Plate,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
For today’s betting alone, $1.835 million was placed on Winx to win the George Ryder Stakes with TAB Fixed Odds.
Winx’s starting price of $1.05 is also the shortest price she has been during her 32-race winning streak.
