The feature race at Swan Hill this Sunday is the Swan Hill Cup (1600m), where the market says it is an open race.

2026 Swan Hill Runner Preview:
1. Freedom Rally: He looks cast.
2. Precious Charm: Wasn’t bad at the Bool but she looks in trouble against these.
3. Cartoon Graveyard: Just missed at Caulfield last Saturday. He’s flying, will get room to wind up and launch late.
4. Electric Impulse: Was hard to miss her first up run at Sandown. But, I think she needs the track to be a bog if she’s going to measure up.
5. Verdad: Verdad ran over this trip a few weeks back at Flemington when on speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Wonder Boy. Knocking on the door and I think with a more patient steer, he can take this out.
6. Seafall: Seems to be getting better as she gets deeper into the prep. Big test here but confident she can measure up.
7. Fine Future: He’s flying this horse, excellent last time in a good race during the Adelaide Carnival…just the rider booking is scary.
8. Black Storm: Looks a target race with one jumpout win under the belt to prepare and resuming at the mile. Hard to beat if he gets front end control.
9. Ocean Beyond: Hit and miss but is capable at this level. But, I’d rather watch.
10. Sir Atlas: Dangerous. Zero intent when resuming at Sandown yet was good late. He’s in the mix.
11. Farhh Flung: The track is the key to his chances. If it can dry out between now (Thursday afternoon) and Sunday post time, then he’s a great each way bet because I do think he’s sneaky flying and gets serious weight relief this time around.
12. Narbold: Flying this horse and bursting to win but no rider booked suggests he may race at Flemington instead.
13. Snoopy Now: Very tough campaigner who stuck on well first up at Murray Bridge and will be strong late. Just not sure he has the class.
14. Indispensable: Not dismissing this guy. Had a throw at the stumps with him in the Town Plate at Wagga. He was never a winning threat, but I thought he was far from disgraced. Much better suited at this level, and up to the mile, jumped out well last week…think he only runs well at likely $101+.
15. Morning Darling (First Emergency): Capable of a forward showing but happy to watch.
16. Ollandia Beach (Second Emergency): Not up to these.
17. Owl Witness (Third Emergency): Well and truly outclassed.

Black Storm, on paper, looks to get front end control, with not much pressure it appears when it comes to finding the top. Precious Charm and Verdad will settle handy but both don’t like to lead. Electric Impulse would ideally hold a forward spot from the inside draw.
