1. Cherry Bomshell: Cherry Bomshell is a beauty for Team Archibald. She resumes, ending the Autumn with an impressive win in the Percy Sykes. Not sure what she is, whether she is a 1200m sprinter or can she stretch her brilliance to the mile. Whatever the case, I think she’s here to play and is top seed.
2. Pembrey: Lot of hype on this filly but overall, T Gollan has an awful record when he brings them down and this girl, for mine, looks limited.
3. Agrarian Girl: Thought she was going to be a Slipper contender but injury struck. Given a good break, trialled super, she commands respect.
4. By Choice: By Choice takes beating for GaiBott. She last raced in the Magic Night, trying to get into the Slipper, but was no match for Pembrey. Trial work has been sharp and looks to have been given a good grounding for her return.
5. Bangkok Hottie: Lot of hype for this filly but I thought she was just fair fresh in the Midway. Drawn badly again, more depth here…I think she’s unders.
6. Krasina: Solid in the Midway last start and maps to do no work…just not sure she’s up to this level.
7. Global Goal: Didn’t beat much on debut during the Wagga Carnival…but boy she let down like a good horse and will be the one to follow I feel with eyes towards the Flight Stakes.
8. Reachin Out: Nice filly but not up to these IMO.
9. Striking Alibi: SCR
10. Coco Affair: Didn’t beat much at Wyong but was dominant and has fitness on her side. One for exotics.
11. Screen Icon: Screen Icon is a John Thompson trained filly that resumes. This girl hasn’t raced since the Percy Sykes when down the track, producing an end of prep run behind Cherry Bomshell. Looks to have trialled well for the return, watch betting.
