The feature race at Rosehill this Saturday is the San Domenico Stakes (1100m), with several promising colts resuming.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2025 San Domenico Stakes.
2025 San Domenico Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Devil Night: Blue Diamond winner that resumes. He did nice things in his 2YO season, higlighted by that Group l triumph. Just one soft trial to get ready though…that tells me he is not here to play so he goes through the keeper.
2. Rivellino: He’s dangerous this guy. Resumes for Kris Lees and was very good in the Autumn. He was very good in the strong races, unlucky in both the Slipper and Sires. Trialled well, maps to stalk the speed and be strong late.
3. Beiwacht: Beiwacht is a handy colt for Chris Waller that resumes. This guy is first up, with his last run coming in the Golden Slipper where not much went right for him when down the track. He has been given a good break and the trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging.
4. King Of Pop: Nice horse that resumes off the back of a couple of trials, the latest at Canterbury when closing with real purpose. He’ll likely get off speed but if they overdo it, he can launch at them late.
5. Wodeton: Wodeton…is this D Day? He is first up, but he promised the world as a juvenile, and for the most part, he didn’t live up to the hype. He is back, and it’s chips in for a Group l. Trial work has been elite and he could well be here to make a statement.
6. Memo: SCR
7. Raging Force: He is a nice horse…but is he too short? We saw last week re Splash Back, that getting excited over Winter form is fraught with danger. He is the 1100m horse with residual fitness and a good racing style…but this looks completely different gravy. Opposing.
8. Nashville Jack: SCR
9. Tom Vegas: He’s a very nice horse. Just not at this level.

Raging Force should get front end control here. Nashville Jack should slide across and sit outside him. Beiwacht is drawn wide and is first up…do they drag back to last, or roll the dice and go forward. Wodeton and Rivellino should handle handy.
