Danny O’Brien trained the winner of last years Melbourne Cup, Vow And Declare and he looks to have the trump card in early markets for this years race which is set to have a more Australian feel to it with travel restraints due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Russian Camelot has been turned into the $15 favourite with Sportsbet ahead of Master Of Wine and Surprise Baby who are both at $17.
Before the South Australian Derby, one TAB punter placed a $2,000 bet at $26 on Russian Camelot to win the Melbourne Cup, which would result in a $52,000 collect.
Russian Camelot has also firmed from $26 to $10 equal favourite with Master Of Wine to win the 2020 Caulfield Cup on October 17 and has also tightened from $26 to $15 to win the 2020 Cox Plate on October 24.
