1. DOUBTFILLY
QLD filly who ran out of her skin in the Golden Slipper where she finished fourth. Returned to racing a fortnight ago at Doomben and just couldn’t hang on after leading and was beaten a head. Awkward draw here but expect her to go forward.
Odds: $7.50
2. DEAR DEMI
She was very good first up in the Silver Shadow finishing third behind the smart Nechita. Can settle closer today from a good draw and only attempt at this trip resulted in a close second in the Group Three Schweppes.

3. FLYING SNITZEL
Beat Dear Demi in the Group Three Schweppes last prep and returned to racing a fortnight ago in the Silver Shadow. Was allowed to find her feet in the early stages but didn’t really make an impression in the straight. Draws the outside gate and fancy she’ll be giving most of these a start as they head for home.
Odds: $7.50
4. JADE MARAUDER
Well bred filly who had little luck when resuming in the Silver Shadow. She was beaten less than 2.5 lengths but wasn’t able to obtain a clear run in the straight. She’ll get back but as demonstrated in the past, can produce a big finish.

5. MEIDUNG
Darley runner who won on debut back in October and although hasn’t registered a second victory in four subsequent runs, hasn’t been that far off some of the good 2yo filly races. Her latest was an eye-catching effort in the Silver Shadow where she chased the promising Nechita gamely. No Nechita in today’s race.

6. SINGLE STYLE
Had won two of three in her initial prep including a win in the Listed Keith Mackay where she accounted for Meidung and Driefontein. She led out when resuming in the Silver Shadow but folded late and finished seventh of nine beaten 3.9 lenghts. Will go to the front again and worth another chance.

7. VILLA SPLENDIDO
Well bred filly from the Gerald Ryan yard who has only had the two starts to date for a win at Hawkesbury and a close second at Scone where she rattled home from well back. Taking on some of the best fillies going around here.

8. CIAO
Aiming a little high here given that here last start was a two length fourth in a BM 70 event at Wyong. Outsider of the race at $41 and a win here would certainly surprise.

9. PUSSY WILLOW
Interesting runner. A well bred New Zealand filly from the McKee yard. Stable knows what it takes to win races in Australia and of her three starts thus far, she’s registered a win in a Group Two race. Been getting back in her races over in New Zealand so the inside draw might not be an advantage but certainly creates some interest.

10. CALAMBA
Took on the boys when resuming in the Up and Coming Stakes here a fortnight ago and acquitted herself fairly. Will appreciate getting back to her own sex here but her record is not has handy as some here.

11. ROLL THE BONES
Patinack Farm representative who won a mid-week Canterbury Restricted race when resuming just over a week ago. Sat on speed that day and expect she’ll do the same from her favourable draw however it’s a massive jump in grade.

12. DOLPHUS – SCRATCHED
OVERVIEW
Meidung holds favouritism as of Thursday (am) at $5.00 in a very open race. Five of the remaining ten runners are under the $10.00 mark. Jade Marauder should’ve finished closer than what she did in the Silver Shadow and if that had been the case, she’d probably be the favourite here so the $6.00 represents good eachway value. No doubting Meidung’s first up run and expecting a similar effort her. Pussy Willow is an interesting runner – well bred, right connections, good jock there’s probably enough there to have a little piece of the $11.00 on offer.
