Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au reports that Preferment ($3.50 favourite) holds the bulk of money in the 2400m Group 1. Rosehill Guineas winner and Kiwi, Volkstok’n’barrell, is also well supported at $4.60, but Godolphin runner Hauraki ($3.70) is not as popular.
“Hauraki won well last start, but surprisingly most of the money is for Preferment. He ran a game second in the Guineas and the extra distance will help Preferment turn the tables on the Kiwi,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
In a massive day of racing here’s what is happening in the other majors.
- Lankan Rupee is gaining strong support to go back-to-back in the T.J. Smith. He has trimmed from $5.00 into $4.80.
- Good money to say Ready For Victory ($4.60) and Pasadena Girl ($7.00 – $5.50) can win the Sires Produce Stakes. Blue Diamond winner Pride Of Dubai is an easing $4.20 favourite.
- Three-year-old Hallowed Crown heads Doncaster betting at $5.50. In a tough race, money is rolling in for Suavito ($15) and Happy Trails ($21).
