Punters were quick to back a horse in Saturday’s Sydney Stakes at Randwick in all-in markets.
Despite winning the Shorts, G1 winner Brutal could not secure a slot in The Everest so he is set to line-up in the G3 Sydney Stakes instead and punters have backed him as if he is unbeatable with the early odds of $2.30 now slashed into $1.80.
Brutal has been announced as one of the emergencies for the $14m Everest and would be high up in the betting for that race if he were to get a start so based on that fact punters think he is clearly the horse to beat in the under card race.
Home Of The Brave is on the second line of betting at $6.50 with Champagne Cuddles at $8.00 and Deprice at $9.00 the only other runners in single figures.
Brutal has also been nominated for the Moonga Stakes at Caulfield where it is Caulfield Cup day but is set to remain in Sydney with his spring target being the $7.5m Golden Eagle.
