Punters have waited until race morning to open their wallets in the feature sprint down the straight at Flemington on Saturday the Newmarket Handicap.
Punters think the G1 Newmarket Handicap is a race in two between two star three-year-olds heavily backing both of them to win the feature sprint on the card.
Exceedance opened at $5 in early markets but a flood of support has come for him to win first-up which history suggests is tough to do but he is now the $3.90 favourite for the race.
The other three-year-old punters want to be on is Loving Gaby who is coming off a solid third in the Lightning Stakes with the extra 200m likely to suit the G1 winning Maher/Eustace trained filly. She opened at $6 in markets but is now into $4.40.
Early favourite Bivouac has continued to ease in the market, he opened at $4.80 but is now out to $6.00 with the support for the other 3YO’s in the race.
Tofane has had some good each way support, whilst Libertini has been rock solid at her quote in what looks a very open race outside of the two heavily backed runners.
