TAB customers who were lucky enough to grab a slice of yesterday’s Rosehill Quaddie are celebrating big time after a monster dividend on the exotic bet type.
While the first and last leg winners (Baller and Malahat) were single figures, it was the two middle legs which added tremendous value to the Quaddie. Red Cardinal, which had been triple figures on Wednesday, won the third leg while White Moss saluted as a $50 shot in the second leg.
The NSW Quaddie dividend paid a monster $174,929 while the Victorian tote managed to top that with a whopping $213,773 return.
One punter in Victoria picked up over $45,000 for a $100 outlay by playing the middle legs as ‘Field’ while going short in the first and last legs.
Another customer, this time in NSW, managed to secure 31.74% of the dividend after going wide in most legs.
The Quaddie results across both totes are some of the largest in recent memory.
“Some of our punters are definitely on cloud nine this morning,” TAB’s Andrew Georgiou said.
“The Victorian customer which went wide in the middle legs played the Quaddie quite smart, in hindsight. Red Cardinal, for instance, had been $101 at one stage earlier in the week but really shortened up to pay around a quarter of that on the tote.
“White Moss taking out the Millie Fox Stakes (second leg) probably knocked a lot of tickets out as the favourite I Am Serious was very popular.”
