1. Grinzinger Star: Has run well here previously but his recent form has been plain and I can’t see him threatening.

2. Excelman: He ran in the same race as Grinzinger Star from Morphettville Parks, won by Texan Windstorm. He got off speed and kept finding the line in a good effort. That was a trial for this, where two back he was good at the track/distance. Key chance.

3. I’m A Dexstar: I’m A Dexstar comes here off the back of a strong win a fortnight back over the mile at Morphettville. He got into a beaut spot off the speed and tracked into the race with purpose before angling into clear air and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Off a win, he can take this out.

4. Sino Witness: Well held third in the Lock Cup last time and although he looks the likely leader, I can’t see him leading throughout.

5. Morty: He’s flying this horse…but gee he’s been well found. Race shape was against him last time behind I’m A Dexstar but I really liked the way he closed off in defeat. He’ll love the rise in trip and stable has a good record when they come here.

6. Don Quixote: Ambulance beats him home.

7. I Need A Drink: Comes into this three weeks between runs since racing over 1800m at Morphettville, leading throughout and giving a good sight but just felt the pinch late. Back on the home deck, positive ride, he’ll run a bold race.

8. Isuspectjeu: Has been kept on ice since a track/distance win on Jan 22 when getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Down in the weights, gets a suck run in transit, he’ll be a definite threat.

9. Persian Empire: SCR

10. Super Valentine: Kept quite safe in betting on Wednesday and was solid enough behind Ichibansan. But, I’d say needs to improve a few lengths to win.

11. Toorak Blaze: He was terrible in the Lock Cup. Not for me.

12. Belmont Avenue: His best is good enough but gee he was plain here on Wednesday and can’t see him improving enoguh to threaten.

13. Free Vino: He was the eye catcher on Wednesday behind Ichibansan and off that, the rise in trip suits. Just not sold on him at this level.

14. Whisky Sour: Given a very sore back at Kangaroo Island last week in a total forgive. Stable would love to win this race, gets the claim…but not the class.

15. Able Warrior (First Emergency): Ambulance beats him home.

I can’t see much early pressure here with Sino Witness the only go forward horse from what I can see. Whisky Sour could get the cart across and lob outside. I Need A Drink could land box seat if given an early squeeze.
