Following today’s announcement of the wildcards by Racing Victoria’s Greg Carpenter, Alizee is the $3 favourite with TAB for the inaugural All-Star Mile to be run at Flemington on March 16.
The James Cummings-trained mare is unbeaten in three runs this campaign including her last-start victory in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes over 1400 metres at Caulfield on February 23.
Mystic Journey – who secured a wildcard earlier today – is now on the second line of betting with TAB at $4 after her Australian Guineas triumph at Flemington last Saturday.
“Before winning the Australian Guineas, Mystic Journey was rated a $15 chance with TAB, but her emphatic performance saw the Tasmanian filly soar into calculations for the world’s richest mile race,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
Happy Clapper – the first recipient of a wildcard – tightened from $6 to $5 for the All-Star Mile after battling in vain to halt Winx’s winning streak at 30 races in last Saturday’s TAB Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick.
Amphitrite – who finished third in the Australian Guineas – is a $9 chance with TAB while the other wildcards, Hartnell and Hawkshot, are $11 and $13 hopes respectively.
Provisional emergencies for the All-Star Mile Field will be announced by Racing Victoria tomorrow at midday AEDT.
