The feature race at Pinjarra this Saturday is the Mandurah Cup (1400m), where the depth looks solid enough.

2026 Mandurah Cup Runner Preview:

1. Cool Memory: Interesting he resumes without a trial but he is a last start Hannans runner up with a good racing style and maps ideally to my eye.

2. Bruce Almighty: Hit and miss but drops a fair way in grade/depth after being well held by Cosmic Crusader in the Carbine Club. He looks the leader and if he gets control, he’s very dangerous.

3. Tin Chooks: Gee he looks a massive price this horse. He was my early Railway pick last year but injury struck and he had 18 months off. Resumed in the Black Heart Bart and I thought was a definite pass mark behind Smooth Chino. Natural improvement, 1400m…I think he’ll only run well.

4. River Rubicon: I think retirement is calling for him. Just not racing with any zest.

5. Angel Undercover: She was outstanding in the Boxing Day Dash, working home strongly against the pattern when second. If she can get a drag into the race, she’ll be hard to hold out.

6. Kaptain Kaos: I think he’s flying the horse but he doesn’t have the best of racing styles and needs luck more often than not. If he gets it, he can win. But, I’d rather see him do it first.

7. Desennea: Not going well enough to trouble these.

8. Iowa: Handy stayer but 1400m here says to me this is a barrier trial for him.

9. Without Reg: Tried his guts out last time but was nabbed late by a good horse, Our Paladin Al. Maps perfect, will be strong late, key threat albeit well found in betting.
