2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic Runner Preview:

1. Zip Lock: Hard to knock a horse that’s 2-from-2. He hasn’t done a lot on the clock and may bring slightly second-tier form, but he’ll be strong at the end of 1200m and maps ideally.

2. Tornado Valley: Blinkers go on to sharpen him up from the B.J. McLachlan. Talent is there, but he was comfortably held last start and it’s hard to see him turning the tables on Zip Lock.

3. Itchintogo: Made an absolute mess of them in the Nugget last Saturday. They were camels and the time wasn’t flash, but he’ll press forward, stay out of trouble and give a sight.

4. Warwoven: SCR

5. Unit Five: Nothing has really smashed the clock, but I think this is the one the market has missed. He looks a rocket. Didn’t beat a great deal on debut, but the manner in which he put them away and the time he ran was strong. Loved his Gold Coast trial, 1200m is fine, he’ll stalk the speed and be strong late. Think he runs very well.

6. Knightsbridge: Liked the way he let down to win first-up at Randwick, but even with J Mac I can’t entertain him. That Randwick form looks very suspect for depth.

7. Shiki: Ran a faster overall time winning the Pearl than the Nugget was run last Saturday. Still not convinced she’s good enough as that race looked suspect on paper and played out that way.

8. Lumbini: SCR

9. By Choice: If it was head-to-head between her and Shiki, I’d be backing By Choice. She was wide throughout, looked gone on the turn but attacked the line strongly. Maps perfectly and is a must for exotics at the price.

10. Masvingo: SCR

11. Mystical: Looks a really good filly for Michael Freedman. Eye-catching debut at Newcastle in the Max Lees, then to Wyong where she was ridden like a barrier trial and closed off strongly behind Paradoxium. One of the hardest to beat.

12. Magritte: Needs to find a maiden somewhere. Not up to these.

13. Tigroni: Game effort in the Pearl but doesn’t look to be at this level.

14. Leaves Of Lorien: Would be a good thing in a maiden if they went down that path instead of here.

15. Inhabit: Can understand the roll of the dice in a $3 million race, but she’ll be lucky to beat the ambulance.

16. Double Cool: Massive price. Good effort in the Pearl last Saturday and 1200m looks ideal. Maps to stalk the speed and should be strong late — a win wouldn’t shock.

17. Iransofar (First Emergency): Needs it easier.

18. Fine Sierra (Second Emergency): SCR

2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic Speed Map

On paper versus actual race shape may differ, but on paper Itchintogo should lead these comfortably without much pressure. Masvingo and Inhabit may roll the dice from wide draws, but there doesn’t look to be a stack of early heat. Unit Five led on debut and should slide forward to take up a handy position.
