James McDonald set to return with a bang

Champion jockey James McDonald is in demand from trainers and punters are sure to follow suit when he returns to the saddle at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

McDonald is keen to bounce back quickly and has already indicated he has eyes on next season’s Sydney jockeys’ premiership. Sportsbet has priced McDonald at $2.50 to take that title and the online bookmaker has him at $4.50 to win on his first ride back on Wednesday and $3.50 to ride a double or better.

There are eight Group 1 races left in the season and the accomplished hoop is $5.00 to pilot a major before the new season starts on August 1. McDonald is also $21 to ride The Everest winner and $51 to win the 2018 Melbourne Cup.
