There were some pretty impressive efforts at the Warwick Farm trials on Friday, most notably from a Godolphin youngster. Find out down below who caught our eye the most.
Warwick Farm- Friday, July 10, Weather Fine, Track Synthetic.
Heat One- Punch Your Weight (Last):
This import has done nothing in a couple of years of racing down under, including his first up run at Rosehill behind Rockalong, but he didn’t look too bad I thought in this trial. He finished last, but third to fifth, they all finished in a line, and he was closing off nicely under no pressure. Could be ready to improve next time he steps out.
Heat Five- Hi Sexy (1st):
Well bred filly who has done nothing in three career runs, including her first up run at Canberra. Trialled here and was much better, sitting off the speed before coming wide and under riding from Tommy Berry, the three year old dashed to the leaders and drew clear to win quite impressively. Similar to Punch Your Weight, she could well improve on race day.
Heat Six- Freeze The Charges (1st):
Handy filly for Jason Coyle who raced well during the Autumn. Spelled after a placing at Warwick Farm and looked pretty sharp in winning this trial. leading all the way and winning impressively under a hold from Kathy O’Hara, who has ridden the filly to success in the past. Looked pretty good here and is set for a solid prep.
Heat Seven- Italy (5th):
Talented Godolphin filly who hasn’t raced since the Autumn Carnival. This was her first trial since then and she looked awesome. Wasn’t asked to do much from Blake Shinn, but she looked excellent and went to the line bolting. Keen to see how far she can go this Spring.
