The two year olds dominated the March 3 Rosehill trials, most notably Godolphin yet again. So who caught our eye the most? Find out who down below.

Rosehill- Tuesday, March 3: Weather Fine, Track Good.

Heat Three- Schindler (1st):

Unraced Snitzel colt for Gerald Ryan who looked most impressive here. He led the four horse trial here very comfortably under McDonald, running along at a decent tempo before kicking clear in the straight and winning by a space, clocking fast time, faster time than the now banned Manawanui.

Heat Four- Toss And Tell (3rd):

Chris Waller trained three year old that hasn’t raced since October. He looked pretty good in this particular trial, jumping well to lead and looking to travel sweetly on speed before being grabbed late, but he was under no pressure and went about his business nicely. There is definitely a race or two in him this prep.

Heat Six- Shamalia (2nd):

Won’t worry about Kencella winning the trial, because that’s all he does. Focusing on the beaten brigade, and the best was Shamalia, who had the nice sit off Sweet Idea before peeling off her back and letting down strongly under no real pressure from Bowman. Lovely piece of work from the Team Cummings mare, so I’ll be keen to see where and when she resumes.

Heat Seven- Bonsai (1st):

A real hot and cold gelding that can be so brilliant one run, then so awful the next. He hasn’t raced since November, but looks on track for a good prep based on his trial effort here. He jumped well to lead, travelled comfortably on speed before kicking clear in the straight and winning by a nice margin under no pressure from the rider, running slick time also. Keen to back him fresh.

Heat Twelve- Mauzel (1st):

Unraced youngster for Godolphin who was making her first public appearance, and boy didn’t she make an impression. Jumped brilliantly to lead, coasted in the run before being clicked up at the top of the straight and she showed a dazzling turn of foot to win by over five lengths. Looks well above average, definitely Stakes class.

Heat Thirteen- Tsaritsa (2nd):

Unraced Chris Waller juvenile by Dane Shadow that was making her first public appearance also. She jumped okay from the gates and settled just off the speed before gaining an inside run and railing up strongly before towing Jim Cassidy in the straight to run second, hard on the back of the leader. There is a decent engine underneath the bonnet and will be winning races for sure.
