Caulfield- Tuesday, August 18, Weather Fine, Track Good 4.
Heat Two- Pasadena Girl (4th):
Champagne winner who looks to have come as an outstanding three year old, just like Peter Moody predicted. She didn’t jump the best and settled back in the field, but once balanced up, she lengthened nicely and worked home well to run fourth. Keen to see how she goes about her business this Spring.
Heat Seven- Flamberge (1st):
Hard to see him as a Group l winner, but he saluted in the Goodwood. Spelled after that and he looked really sharp in this jump out win, leading all the way to win under a really good hold from the rider. I thought he was the best of the morning.
Heat Eight- Reldas (Last):
Only a small field of six here, but Reldas did look pretty good despite coming in last. He sat back throughout and while the other runners were under riding, he was placed under next to no pressure. He dominated night racing at the Valley this time last year, and he looks on track to do something similar.
