Remarque $11 (was $13 until five minutes before winning Rosehill Race 1)

Here is the TAB Fixed Odds information for today’s races at Rosehill and Flemington plus the Magic Millions features (winners in bold):

ROSEHILL GARDENS

 

Race 1                   Remarque justified the boom by easily winning the opener despite wandering in the straight.

Remarque received 75 percent of backing from TAB customers after opening $2 on Wednesday.

Remarque was as short as $1.35 on raceday before closing $1.45 favourite.

One TAB punter placed $20,000 at $1.04 on Remarque to finish in the placings.

A win bet of $8000 at $1.45 was wagered on Remarque minutes before post time.

Zethus ($12 to $10) and Sing A Love Song ($13) were the minor placegetters.

 

Race 2     

Favourite backers were rewarded with the strong raceday support for Tailleur.

Tailleur tightened from $2.90 to $2.50 favourite on raceday (was as short as $2.40).

There was a late wager of $3770 at $2.40 on Tailleur.

Morning favourite The Bopper drifted from $2 to $2.80 and finished fourth.

Lashes ($6.50 to $5.50) and Academy $15) finished second and third respectively.

 

Race 3        

In a close finish, Banger was able to outlast Proven Class in the final 100 metres.

Banger was supported at a price on raceday from $14 to $10.

Proven Class hovered around the $9-$9.50 mark on raceday (closed $9.50).

Unplaced favourite Mother’s Mercy was $4.60 to $3.90 before easing late to $4.20.

Second elect King’s Trust – also unplaced – firmed from $9.50 to $7 (was as short as $6.50).

Rich And Shameless ($10) was the third placegetter.

 

Race 4       

In the shadows of the post, Harpo Marx nabbed the dashing leader Vadiyann.

Harpo Marx was $3.70 to $3.50 on raceday before easing late to $3.70 favourite.

Vadiyann drifted from $5 to $6 and the daring tactics from Sam Clipperton almost worked.

Fourth placegetter Criminal Code ($3.80) duelled with Harpo Marx for favouritism.

First Courrier – specked from $26 to $17 on raceday – finished third.

 

Race 5                  

Favourite punters rejoiced as Count De Rupee overpowered Liberty Sun in the dying stages.

Count De Rupee firmed on raceday from $3.60 to as short as $3.30 before closing $3.40.

Liberty Sun ($14 to $21) would have provided a blowout result if victorious.

He’s A Hotshot eased as the second elect from $5.50 to $6.50 and was unplaced.

Cognac – also unplaced – opened $15 on Wednesday and touched $5.50 on raceday (closed $7).

Charretera ($12) was the third placegetter.

 

Race 6

Above And Beyond defied an alarming betting drift to account for his rivals.

Above And Beyond was $3.90 on raceday morning and eventually closed $6.

The plunge was for the runner-up Canasta ($12 to $5.50 on raceday).

Third placegetter Zoffany’s Lad was supported from $6 to $4.20 before easing late to $5.

Unplaced favourite Trajection hovered around the $4.60-$4.80 mark (closed $4.80).

One bet of $4900 at $4.80 was placed late in betting on Trajection.

Another wager of $9800 at $1.90 on Orcein to run a place did not prove fruitful.

 

Race 7     

One TAB punter collected $48,000 after Tycoonist won his second race from eight starts.

The TAB customer in question placed $4000 at $12 on the drifting Tycoonist.

Tycoonist ($6.50 to $12) was unwanted by the majority of punters on raceday.

Unplaced favourite Shaik received almost 50 percent of raceday backing from TAB customers.

Shaik was heavily supported from $3.70 to $2.30 but finished fourth.

Runner-up Blaze A Trail tightened from $9 to $5.50 before closing $6.50.

Terrace House ($4.20 to $5.50 on raceday) did not figure in the placings.

Sahra ($9 to $11) finished third.

 

Race 8         

In a tough race to assess, Lillemor was able to hold off Exotic Ruby in a close finish.

Before the late scratching of Hibiscus Lady, Lillemor eased from as short as $6.50 to $8.

Lillemor eventually closed a $6.50 chance on the fourth line of betting.

Unplaced favourite Never Talk ($3.70) drifted from $4.20 to $4.80 before the late scratching.

Sally’s Day ($4.20) had tightened from $5 to $4.60 before the withdrawal of Hibiscus Lady.

Exotic Ruby ($19) and Madam Legend ($4.60) were the minor placegetters.

 

Race 9   

Private Eye won his fifth-straight race with a devastating sprint in the last 300 metres.

Private Eye did ease as raceday favourite though from $2.50 to $2.80.

Second elect Smart Image also drifted from $3.50 to $4.60 and did not place.

Runner-up Starla was fancied on raceday from $11 to as short as $6.50 before closing $7.

The unplaced Super Contender firmed on raceday from $11 to $8.50.

Third placegetter Cuban Royale ($34 to $81) was the extreme outsider.

 

FLEMINGTON

Race 1    

Favourite backers were surprised in the first race with Parlophone missing the placings.

Parlophone was $2.90 to $2.60 early on raceday before closing $2.90 (touched $3).

Second elect Tiny ($5 to $4 before closing $4.40) also failed to figure in the placings.

There was late specking for the victorious Japery ($16 to $14 on raceday).Pioneer River ($8.50) and Hydro Star ($6.50 to $21) were the minor placegetters.

Race 2                  

Hasseltoff could not secure a clear passage at the right time to the lament of most punters.

Hasseltoff drifted from as short as $1.85 to $2.20 but still received 56 percent of support.

Notable bets on Hasseltoff included $6750 at $2.10 and $5000 at 2.20.

High ‘n’ Dry hovered around $5.50-$6 on raceday before closing $6.

Third placegetter Great House was supported late from as much as $7.50 to $6.

Saccharo firmed minutes before post time from $7 to $6 but did not figure in the placings.

 

Race 3    

After a couple of tough races, favourite punters were cheering thanks to Absolute Flirt.

Absolute Flirt was supported from $2.50 to $2.25 before easing late to $2.40.

Bets of note on Absolute Flirt included $5000 and $4200 at $2.40.

Third placegetter Modear was well tried on raceday from $4 to $3.10.

Causeway Girl was solid at the $5.50 mark and finished fourth.

Madam Superior ($8.50 to $18) was the runner-up.

 

Race 4   

In a driving finish, Liqueuro at just his second start was able to hold off Alloway.

Liqueuro was backed from $5.50 to $4.40 favourite on raceday in an open affair.

Alloway was fancied at a price from $11 to $8.50.

Third placegetter Solar Apex received money on raceday (as much as $6.50 to $5.50).

Mystique Falcon was supported from $7.50 to $5.50 but failed to figure in the placings.

Narvaez ($4.60 to $7) and Swift Sure ($5 to $8.50) were unwanted on raceday.

 

Race 5     

Over Exposure cleared away in the final 100 metres to the delight of favourite backers.

Over Exposure opened $3 on Wednesday and $2.70 was available on raceday morning.

After getting down to $2.15, Over Exposure eventually closed $2.50 favourite.

Almost 55 percent of support from TAB customers was for Over Exposure.

Original favourite Heavenly Emperor eased from $3.10 to $3.50 and was runner-up.

Third placegetter Delectation Girl was backed from $8.50 to $7 on raceday.

The unplaced Kentucky Breeze drifted from $4.60 to $9 (touched $9.50).

 

Race 6       

In a difficult betting race, Viral was able to nab Rule The World on the line.

Viral was as much as $4.80 on raceday before shortening late to $4.40 (touched $4.20).

Original favourite Rule The World drifted on raceday from $4.20 to $4.80.

Third placegetter Biometric opened $11 on Wednesday and received immediate backing.

On raceday, Biometric was $5.50 out to $7 before closing $6.50.

Skyman – backed from an opening price of $17 on Wednesday to $8 – finished fourth.

 

Race 7                   

Fabergino registered win number 11 from 17 starts in the Kensington Stakes.

After drifting early on raceday from $3.80 to $4.40, Fabergino was crunched late to $3.70.

Third placegetter Pandemic was heavily supported on raceday from $4.20 to $3 favourite.

Bets of $7745 at $3.10 and three $5000 wagers at $3 were placed late on Pandemic.

Prezado – who was unplaced – eased on raceday from as short as $4.40 to $5.50.

A late bet of $4000 at $5.50 was placed on Prezado seconds before post time.

Runner-up Sword Of Mercy was solid around the $5.50-$6 mark (closed $6).

 

Race 8           

Coolth claimed Sikorsky late to register his third win from seven starts.

After drifting early on raceday, Coolth shortened from as much as $7.50 to $6.

Sikorsky ($18 to $26 on raceday) almost knocked many punters out of the Quaddie.

Unplaced favourite Long Arm drifted from $3.60 to $6 before closing as the $5 favourite.

Miss Damita – also unplaced – was backed on raceday from $10 to $5.50.

Influential Girl ($10 to $6.50) did not figure in the placings.

Yulong Captain ($12 to $16) was the third placegetter.

 

Race 9                 

Housay managed to break through for his first win since September last year.

Housay was $4.80 out to $6 on raceday before shortening late to $5.

Terbium was backed from $4.40 to $3.60 favourite but failed to finish in the placings.

Alburq – also unplaced – was fancied from $5.50 to $3.90 on raceday.

Raceday morning favourite Mystery Shot eased from $3.60 to $4.20 third elect.

Marcel From Madrid ($23) and Ruban Bleu ($12) were the minor placegetters.

 

GOLD COAST

Race 6       

Shaquero regained his Breeders’ Plate form in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Shaquero is the fourth galloper in five years to win this race after running seven days prior.

Shaquero eased on raceday from $10 to as much as $13 before closing $12.

Unplaced favourite Swift Witness was $4.20 after the barrier draw and closed $3.60.

Third placegetter She’s All Class hovered around $4-$4.20 on raceday and closed $4.

One bet of $6000 at $4.20 was placed late in betting on She’s All Class.

Runner-up Alpine Edge was around the $7.50-$8 mark on raceday (closed $8).

The unplaced Ranch Hand was fancied on raceday from $11 to $9.50.

 

Race 7                   

Aim saluted in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas to the shock of most punters.

The biggest news was Ryan Maloney being dislodged from Isotope early in the straight.

Isotope was heavily backed as raceday favourite from $2.50 to $2.15.

One bet of $10,000 at $2.50 on Isotope was placed on Thursday night.

Third placegetter Away Game drifted from $3.90 to $4.60 due to the money for Isotope.

Aim was $41 to as short as $31 on raceday before closing $34.

Amish Boy (as short as $19 to $31 on raceday) was the runner-up.
