Gee he looks silly odds at $14. Warren Gavenlock trains this gelding, who resumed in a strong Class 6 at Grafton on Grafton Cup Day and just pen the run. Four wide throughout without cover and rightfully faded late. Drops big time back in grade/depth, he gets onto a wet track, he loves, two time second up winner…just a little query at the trip on testing ground but with the right run, he should be okay and at the odds, I’m happy to have something on.
$100 Win Man From Uncle R7 @ $11 (TAB)
I’m amazed he is double figures. Admittedly there is a bit of depth/quality to this field but I’m convinced that Austy Coffey has this bloke flying. Clare Cunningham had him for one run in the Autumn, which came at Randwick, and you could almost make a case that he should have when a close up sixth to Top Striker. Now with Coffey, he has had a jumpout at Ballarat Synthetic, where he bolted up, and a St Arnaud trial win where he led all the way and looked very good. He either gets a soft lead or gets a soft run outside Gold Fields. His 1400m record reads so well..Gee I think he’s really well placed here.
$10 Win/$40 Place Run Pam Run R8 (Tote)
She’s $10 at the time of writing and for mine, that’s unders. I think she should be double that. I’m still going to have a bet on her, and hopefully she gets out. She’s had a couple of runs for David Reynolds, the latest being two weeks ago over 1200m at Ipswich when well back in the run and finishing off nicely out wide. When trained by the Busuttin/Young team, she did run well beyond 1200m when ridden near the speed so I think ridden with a sit, she’ll be even better suited. Think she’s a decent gamble in the get out.
