Race One Number 4 Grand Marshal (5th):
In terms of this race, he didn’t do much, but in terms of the Sydney Cup, this run was a real eye catcher. Not suited at all by the slow tempo, but he was really warming to the task late.
Race Seven Number 7 Azkadellia (2nd):
Run from this mare was outstanding. First crack at Sydney racing and was racing on a bone dry track, which really isn’t her go, yet ran a half length second. Give her a track with give in it, and she will be a Group l winner.
Race Eight Number 3 Excess Knowledge (2nd):
Fantastic return given he is better over further and was first up after a Melbourne Cup run. Not sure where he goes, but I want to be on him next start. He is a star.

The Track:
Mick Goodie copped it in the Spring, and rightfully so, but kudos for producing a pearler on Saturday. Horses came home, led, came wide, came near the inside. Perfect.
Race Four Number 5 The United States (2nd):
Looks a serious Cups horse for the Spring. His effort here was outstanding and I want to follow him and with confidence when he comes back.
Race Five Number 3 Badawiya (1st):
She may have had the charmed run, but gee she was dominant and won with alot of class and authority. She can go to Sydney now and be a real force in the majors for the fillies and mares.

Race Five Number 2 Craftiness (Last):
Bar Plates on were the big negative, but there was good support for him, yet he ran another shocker. He can warm the pine until further notice.
Race Race Seven Number 4 Amicus (11th):
Solid first up win, but has done nothing in two runs since. Very frustrating mare to follow and she simply can’t be trusted anymore.
Flemington:
Race Nine Number 6 Jessy Belle (5th):
Same as last week. Not sure why punters got on her.
Rosehill Race Four Number 5 Ghost Protocol (1st)- Thomas Huet:
Doesn’t get the chances he deserves, but I think Huet is up there with the best in the business in terms of getting a horse home and settling it in the run. Most riders wanted to steer clear of the fence, so he took advantage and the horse drove through to get the job done. Class ride.
Beaten riders in the last at Rosehill:
Some very negative rides in this race and Schofield on High Midnight seized the initiative and bolted up. Ordinary initiative from some good hoops here.
