Ok, no-one should ever declare a racehorse.
Especially a maiden who has already raced and been beaten out of a place. To make it worse, she resumes from a spell in this too.
Oh, she will be ridden by a 4kg apprentice who has only ever ridden TWO winners in her entire career.
Cant win…surely? Nope, quite the opposite in my eyes.
It’s how this filly at Narromine this afternoon called FOX ON THE ROCKS (Foxwedge-Schmartness) maps.
And it could well be that those 4kg coming off her back make her unbeatable.
She is trained by Cameron Crockett who does not use 4kg claimers. That says a lot right there and she is coming off an impressive 2nd in a trial.
Her only real start to date was at Tamworth when on pace until halfway down the straight where she wilted in what was a powerful maiden. Never Talk won it and has won 3 since. Third home that day was Triple Ace who has won twice since.
So the form is strong.
“I wont give her any instructions other than get out and go,” said Crockett referring to his young rider Elissa Meredith.
They jump from gate 2, with the unraced Agent Moon on the fence. Presumably she crosses him, finds the rails and just runs away from these. Currently Palmerbet has her a $2.70 chance.
Crockett has a big chance to make it a race to race double as he saddles STRALEX in the next event (race 4) and she opened up at $4.00 this morning. She too is resuming and won a trial well recently.
“I think she should be a $1.90 chance as she is flying.”
