The battle for favouritism in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic has taken another twist with Exhilarates now back at the top of the market.
Exhilarates, owned by Godolphin and trained by James Cummings, had been installed $5.50 favourite after Tuesday’s draw but was then joined, and headed, by Dubious yesterday but is now a $4.80 slight favourite ahead of that runner who is at $5.
Unite And Conquer, which had been favourite for the race prior to this week, is $6-$5.50 following some strong money overnight.
“It’s been an intriguing battle at the top of the market,” TAB’s Glenn Munsie.
“Every day since the draw we’ve had movement between Dubious and Exhilarates so it will be very interesting to see exactly which horse jumps favourite tomorrow afternoon.
“In terms of the popularity stakes, it is Exhilarates in front of Unite And Conquer with Dubious third.
“Between the trio they are holding 70 percent of the money.”
With the scratching of Yes Yes Yes, Czarson ($6.50) is the only other runner in single figures.
Outback Barbie continues to dominate the market in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on the Gold Coast, which is to be run a race earlier than the 2YO Classic.
The local is $2.30 and clear top pick in front of Boomsara ($4) and accounts for 42 percent of the early investment.
