Ellsberg has opened $5.00 favourite for Saturday’s Villiers Stakes at Randwick.
While there have been no moves early in betting, the Festival Stakes winner has a decent lead in the market with stablemate Steely – who opened $15 in the Pre-Nominations market last week – and Stockman sitting joint second favourites at $8.00.
In the Inglis Nursery, Athletica has been $8.00 in to $5.00 after some early support, while the Hawkes-trained Valspar has firmed $15 in to $8.
Further north, Apache Chase has opened as the $1.30 short priced favourite in the Gateway at Eagle Farm.
