Sydney raider short odds in the Ted Van Heemst Stakes

Last start Northerly placegetter Steinem is the short priced favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au for the feature race at Ascot this afternoon, the Ted Van Heemst Stakes (2100m).

The Maher/Eustace trained mare ran third in the 1800m Group l two weeks ago and looks suited up to 2100m this afternoon. She maps ideally and John Allen sticks. She opened $2.60 and has been well backed, now into $2.25.

Ironclad, the Northerly runner up, is on the second line of betting at $3.40 while last start winner Marocchino is at $6.50, slightly on the drift after bottoming out at $4.80.
