A punter with the TAB is confident that they have identified the winners of two Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival features after placing $4,100 at $143 on Te Akau Shark to win the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 26 and Finche to win the Melbourne Cup at Flemington on November 5.
The TAB customer in question stands to collect $586,300 if those horses are victorious in two of the biggest races on the Australian racing calendar.
Te Akau Shark – currently $13 in the Cox Plate – finished a narrow second to Kolding in the TAB Epsom at Royal Randwick last Saturday after finishing runner-up in the Tramway Stakes at Royal Randwick on September 7.
Finche – presently $11 in the Melbourne Cup – was second to Kings Will Dream in the TAB Turnbull Stakes at Flemington last Saturday after taking out the Kingston Town Stakes at Royal Randwick on September 21.
Finche is on the second line of betting at TAB for the Melbourne Cup behind Surprise Baby ($9) who was victorious in The Bart Cummings at Flemington last Saturday.
Surprise Baby was $26 last Friday morning to win the Melbourne Cup 2019 before one TAB punter plonked $10,000 at $26 on the winner of this year’s Adelaide Cup.
