In a sensational “straight six” race, on the final day of the Flemington carnival, Chautauqua is $2.30 favourite ahead of Lankan Rupee ($5.00) with Irish star Slade Power on the third line at $7.50.
“This is one of the best fields of sprinters you will see. We have the world’s highest rated sprinter Lankan Rupee, tackling the possible heir to his crown in Chautauqua. Throw in the European star Slade Power and it’s a heavyweight battle,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
The top three sprinters are the only runners under double figures. Multiple Group 1 winner Buffering and Terravista are the closest in betting on $13.
