Bunbury Cup 2026 – Tips, Field, Betting, Odds and Horse Previews

The feature race at Bunbury this Saturday is the Bunbury Cup (200m), where the market says it will be a wide open contest where Fancy Red heads the market at $4.20.

2026 Bunbury Cup Runner Preview:

1. River Rubicon: Just not sold on him at 2000m but loved the way he closed off in the Detonator and if within range, he is dangerous against these.

2. Fear The Wind: Blessed when winning the Detonator and good luck to all concerned with the win, but surely he won’t win this as well.

3. Silver Eye: Silver Eye ran down the track in the Detonator two weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he did close off well. 2000m is the query but with the right run in transit, he should be fine and can win.

4. Fancy Red: Fancy Red is racing for the third Saturday on the bounce. She was a strong winner last Saturday at Ascot, finding plenty under Pike to fend them off and score. 2000m should be fine, she commands respect.

5. Arcadia Park: Arcadia Park should take beating here. He ran two weeks ago in the Detonator where he got too far out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. Hard fit and rising to 2000m, he’ll take holding out.

6. Fly With Caution: He was game in defeat in the Detonator given he was near a solid tempo and just felt the pinch late. More conservative run, he’s dangerous.

7. Rocking Society: Did a really good job in the Detonator given he was in the first half a dozen, off a let up, and kept chasing when second. Good upside to come, he’s in the mix.

8. Fat Roy Slim: Somewhat luckless in the Detonator but was a mile back. If he can settle closer and get a drag into the race, he can win for sure.

9. Amazing Chant: Gate sealed her fate in the Detonator so forgive and forget. If she can use the inside gate to advantage, she’s a threat at odds.

10. Desennea: Struggling. Pass.

11. Redback Flyer: Wide throughout in the Detonator and battled away well enough despite having his chance. 2000m is the query and yes, home track hero and hope, but for mine, he’s gross unders.

12. Rudhyar: W Pike gem got him home last start but not up to these.

13. Snazzler: He’ll be strong late but lacks the class.
