Resident tipster Adam gives his betting strategy for Wednesday’s (2/1/2019) racing. Note that the prices quoted were available at the time of writing, which was 5.30pm Tuesday.
Outlay: $200
Return: $283
NOTE: Deciding to change it up for 2019. Instead of five plays across Australia, I’ll hone in on one or two meetings that I’m keen on and will post a $100 Strategy for each meeting. Saturday’s will remain the same, with $100 Strategy for each of the metro meets. Cheers and good luck!
Sandown
$10 Win Amanikan R1 @ $5.5 (BetEasy)
$5 E/W King Landon R2 @ $16/$4.6 (BetEasy)
$10 E/W True Gent R4 (Tote)
$10 Win From The Clouds R6 @ $6 (Sportsbet)
$50 Win Hawkshot R7 @ $2.15 (BetEasy)
Sandown Overview: Amanikan resumes for Mick Kent. Encouraging debut at Geelong, spelled and has trialled well leading in. King Landon was a beaten fav on debut but should improve off that and $16 certainly appeals. True Gent is a one batter but the same can be said about the rest and is worth a throw at the stumps each way. From The Clouds is flying for Matt Laurie. Hopefully gets back with cover and launches. Hawkshot is the best of the day. Heard Darren Weir say before the resumption this horse will improve with racing. Wins this for mine and will go straight back to Saturday grade.
Taree
$5 Win/$10 Place Magic Gift R1 @ $27/$7.5 (Sportsbet)
$45 Win Haames R3 @ $2.8 (BetEasy)
$20 Win Weigela R4 @ $2.9 (BetEasy)
$10 E/W Wewonya R6 @ $8/$2.5 (Sportsbet)
Taree Overview: I think Magic Gift is worth a throw at the stumps in the first. Just had no chance on debut at Newcastle in what looked a strong 900m maiden, getting caught wide. Draws barrier one and the depth here clearly not as strong. Haames looks the best at Taree. Beaten by a good one in Stella Sea Sun first up. If he improves off and gets luck from the draw, he’ll win. Weigela was no match for the dominant win of Destiny’s Choice first up here. Like him, but if you want a saver e/w, it’s definitely Onemoreforluck. Wewonya looks a great e/w gamble in race six. Hopefully can hold the back of noted leader Port Gold and if the breaks come his way, I’m sure he’ll be in the finish.
