Warrnambool
$60 Win Raffine R3 @ $4.2 (Sportsbet)
$10 Win/$30 Place Snoano R7 @ $26/$6 (Sportsbet)
Warrnambool Overview:
I thought we’d get near odds on for Raffine, so $4.20 looks outstanding. Comes through a Terang maiden from around a month ago and if you were on, gee it was an ugly watch. No luck at all in the straight and went around as if it was a barrier trial. The break between runs is the little query, but she does look above average, strikes a winnable maiden and am really keen. Silentz should win the Koroit Cup but could I touch odds on? No. So back Snoano each way. Ran over the Pakenham mile a month ago and was quite good in defeat when second to Beauty Way. Think the $6 place is very much overs and I am confident he’ll run well, but but will need things to fall into place to beat Silentz.
Sunshine Coast
$10 Win/$20 Place Little Drummer Boy R1 @ $26/$5 (Bet365)
$10 Win/$20 Place Le Mattan R2 @ $9/$3.5 (Bet365)
$40 Multi at $3.29 (Bet365)
Savvy Acquisition R3 Place
The Candy Man R4 Win
Sunshine Coast Overview:
Note that 365 were the only prices up at time of writing. I think there’s really good value about the first couple of races. Little Drummer Boy looks to be going well and looks clear overs at $26/thereabouts. Ran over 1400m here last time and though well held, she worked home late behind the dominant winner. Will spot them a start but should be strong late. Le Mattan has gone like a busted in his first two runs back from a break, but they were in much stronger events. He’s a city class horse when right so I think at near double figures, he’s worth a look. Savvy Acquisition is finding it very hard to win, but $1.73 place in terms of a multi looks very good. Hopefully the soft hands of D Browne give him every chance to run 2200m. The Candy Man looks a moral in the fourth and barring bad luck he should win. Did a bit wrong last time in breaking the maiden at Doomben but once he knuckled down, he proved too good.
