Bet One- Win- Newcastle Race One Number 3 Quality Approach:
Bit surprised he isn’t fav in the opener. Three year old for the Maher/Eustace team who has won two of his five career outings, the latest win coming over 2000m at Hawkesbury where he sat outside the leader in a slowly run race and just got there on the line. I’d much rather $3+ this bloke than take the shorts about Allzin, who has to be a query at the trip.
Suggested Bet: $40 Win at $3.1 (BetEasy)
Bet Two- Each Way- Newcastle Race Eight Number 10 Don’t Doubt Her:
I thought we’d get double figures about her but she’s opened $6, which seems very short. I like her though so I think take the tote and hopefully she’ll get out a touch. THought her run was full of merit last time at Scone. She just got too far back in the run but rattled off some of the better splits of the entire meeting when a closing third. Robbie Dolan is an in form rider and the speed engaged here should suit her racing pattern.
Suggested Bet: $20 Win/$30 Place (Tote)
Bet Three- Win – Grafton Race Six Number 3 Acraman:
I don’t think he’s the most genuine horse going around, but last couple of runs have been quite good and I think he can get a win on the board here. He ran at this track/distance last time where he got a tad too far back in the run but finished off strongly to run second to an above average type in Nooks And Crannies. If he can sit closer in the run, clearly the horse to beat.
Suggested Bet: $30 Win (Tote)
Bet Four- Each Way- Warrnambool Race Four Number 5 Bronski:
Have liked this horse since day one and I think despite the rise in grade/depth, he can measure up. Sue Jaensch trains this hulk of an animal, who has steadily progressed since day one. He’s a big lump of a thing who doesn’t quite know what the caper is all about but there is a decent engine under the hood. Ran over 2000m at Naracoorte last time and just missed out on the win. He can get over comfortably from the barrier and I think he’ll run well.
Suggested Bet: $15 Win/$25 Place (Tote)
Bet Five- Win- Warrnambool Race Eight Number 3 The Dominator:
I think he’s the good thing of the day. Henry Dwyer has him absolutely flying and he does have the best staying form on the flat in recent times. Ran on Ballarat Cup Day last Saturday and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Khartoum in a lovely pipe opener for this race. Fab record at the Bool, he’ll eat up the trip, wet track no issue…he’s the one to beat, clearly.
Suggested Bet: $70 Win at $4.6 (Sportsbet)
Total Spend: $240
