Coffs Harbour Overview:
Jim Jarvis usually has his runners soft in condition first up, but I just want to speck Spender at the odds. Had two runs for Jarvis in the Winter after formerly being based in Victoria. Both runs for the stable were over 1400m and he ran well each time. He’s been given a good break and I’ve been reliably told he was very sharp in winning a Coffs Harbour jumout last Monday. Market is the guide, but gate one in a thin race, he looks the clear value. Silver Frost does look the winner of the second. Thought it was a more than encouraging debut at Port Macquarie and looks well placed here. The Terry Evans stable is going well and I think Twelfth Raj can go close in the first leg of the quaddie. He got a mile out of his ground last time at Port but made up good ground against the track pattern of the day behind Splash Of Lime, who wasn’t too bad in the Highway on Saturday. Could easily entertain at the odds. No Qualm did some nice things for me first up at Port Macquarie but just raced a touch flat next time. Third up on his home track, there’s always good cushion/give at Coffs, which suits him, and he’s worth a speck at the odds in the last.
