When there is strong market support for a Robert Smerdon runner, they more often win than lost, and the Sportsbet.com.au punters have launched into his two year this Saturday in the Inglis Debutant Stakes (1000m).
Pearl Congenial, who has looked sharp in a couple of Cranbourne barrier trials, including a second placing on Monday, opened $8.50 and has been strongly backed, now into $5.50.
The other horse that has plenty of admirers is the Robbie Griffiths trained Terindah. No public trials for this son of Foxwedge, but has been $11 in from $17 and has clearly been the best backed at odds.
Flying Jess, who was the pick of the triallers on Monday, has had a couple of $3.50-$3.30 flucs and is a warm favourite.
