Avilius is the dominant favourite in Peter Young Stakes markets
Avilius looks the good thing of the day at Caulfield in the Peter Young Stakes (1800m) this Saturday and is just about at a good things price to continue his winning ways.
He resumed in the Carlyon Cup (1600m) a fortnight back and was outstanding, winning very impressively with something in hand. Gate one, fitter and Bowman on, the $2.25 seems acceptable.
Acceptable given that condition wise, he had more improvement to come than the main rival here Night’s Watch ($4.40), who looked wound up, so that horse turning the tables on Avilius would take significant improvement.
There’s been a sprinkling of each way money for Trap For Fools ($16-$15), who was good very late in the Carlyon Cup.
