The second and concluding Group 1 feature at Randwick this Saturday is the All Aged Stakes (1400m), boasting a field rich in depth and talent.
Presented below is a look at the speed map, detailed runner analysis, and a recommended $100 betting play for the 2025 All Aged Stakes.
2025 All Aged Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Antino: It is interesting he resumes here and not in Brisbane…whether that means intent? Or there is nothing suitable up there between now and the Hollindale into the Doomben Cup. From all reports, he jumped out very well last week behind Rothfire, but for a barrier rogue, gate one is the worst result. He could get buried back on the fence and needing luck. But, his best is the best of this field IMO and is overs.
2. Briasa: Briasa is one of the hardest to beat. He got the dream run in the TJ Smith two weeks ago but even allowing for that, he was still impressive the way he knuckled down to score. He was only second up there so with room for upside/improvement, he takes beating once again.
3. Desert Lightning: Good, solid horse. But just don’t quite think he is up to this level.
4. Jimmysstar: He has a gate to settle much closer this time around vs his previous three runs this prep where he has got too far back but has rocketed late. If he can use the gate, settle closer, he’s going to be dangerous.
5. My Oberon: I think he has eyes on Brisbane so he’s not here to play for me.
6. Osipenko: Rinse/repeat My Oberon comment.
7. Sunshine In Paris: I am convinced she is flying. Just got too far back from the gate in the TJ Smith and was never a factor. I think if she can get a drag into the race, she is going to be very hard to hold out.
8. Belclare: Belclare is a query at WFA but she looks to be absolutely humming now she’s back with Bjorn Baker. She went back to NZ for a stint and frankly, looked like a camel vs what she did in the Spring when under the care of Bjorn. Back with him now and her trial win was brilliant. She’ll run a beauty at odds.
9. Magic Time: Magic Time looks suited up in trip with an eye towards defending her title. She comes through the TJ Smith where she seemingly had her chance in behind them but I just think 1200m was too sharp for her. Back up in distance, hard fit, she’s capable.
10. Joliestar: I am keen to pen her because she does seem a mare who thrives with the break betwen runs, three weeks or more. The times she has raced with two weeks/less between runs, she is yet to win. Wide gate, will get back…not for me. Keen to oppose.
11. Kimochi: She’s flying but just can’t draw a gate. But, I reckon if Nash gives her a dig in the ribs and she can settle handy, I think she is certainly going well enough to win and is slight overs for mine.
12. Benedetta: If she was mine, she’d be heading back to Adelaide for the Sangster/Goodwood. She’s not up to these.
13. Grail Seeker: Quality Kiwi mare that can fly fresh but I don’t think she is up to this level.
14. Broadsiding: Broadsiding is a very good colt for James Cummings that comes here with fresh legs since a Rosehill Guineas triumph where you could argue he was lucky to win given how unlucky Aeliana was, but that form was well and truly franked by that filly spanking them in the Derby. Back to 1400m I find very interesting but loved the way he went in a recent tick over trial.

2025 All Aged Stakes Speed Map
Think the tempo will depend on Belclare and what she does. She can rip along in front at times but other times, she can control from the front. But she does look the leader, and comfortably. Magic Time will slide across from a tricky gate. My Oberon is first up…do they chance their arm or drag back? Broadsiding and Briasa won’t be far away.
