Nine races will be run and won at Morphettville this Saturday for Hill Smith Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out eight metres from the 1200m-Winning Post; Out six metres for the remainder.

4 Fast Food (Bet Now: $31.00) is on his way to Hong Kong soon enough but while he’s here, he can keep winning. He was a sharp debut winner at Balaklava, getting better as the race went on to win well. Good test here, but keen to see how he goes.

2 Rebel Tuesday (Bet Now: $91.00) comes back to 1100m after racing over 1400m at Caulfield last start when off speed and tried hard but failed to come on when midfield. Back a fair way in depth/grade, back in trip, she’s dangerous.

1 Czech Out (Bet Now: $81.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday here, beaten for early speed but really liked the way he kept chasing and finding the line in defeat behind Ole Go. If within range, can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

3 Cosmic Shower (Bet Now: $14.00) has found that winning feeling and she can go on with it. She won her maiden several weeks ago at Morphettville Parks, landing near the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away she went. She is hard to beat here.

6 Motoscafo (Bet Now: $17.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with John Thompson in NSW, she now finds herself with Team Jolly. She is better suited over further but her best is clearly good enough to be dangerous so watch betting.

4 Clux Star (Bet Now: $19.00) comes here off an impressive maiden win at Bendigo, sitting near the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and she was impressive late. Good test here but confident she can measures up.

7 Autumn Rainbow (Bet Now: $13.00) is one I have eyes for re the Oaks. She resumed over 1400m at Pakenham Synthetic and was dominant from off speed in a sharp return. Bred to eat up a trip and this is a nothing race, so she doesn’t need to improve too much to win.

3 Kosaji (Bet Now: $17.00) could be the best horse in the race. Just a matter of whether he is mentally there. He looked all over the winner at Murray Bridge last time but couldn’t quite put the race away. Lands in a plum spot, Blinkers on, he appeals.

I think 5 Contrary (Bet Now: $14.00) can bounce back. I was keen on her at Murray Bridge two weeks ago but with hindsight, she was fresh and just wasn’t really there to play. Fitter, 1800m, regular rider back on board, I think she’ll run a beauty.

10 Chartin (Bet Now: $34.00) each way for me. He ran really well over 2050m at Strathalbyn last start, sitting back near last but worked home quite well when fourth to Tottori. He will be strong late. Just depends what sort of start he concedes.

4 Capulet (Bet Now: $4.80) comes back to 1800m after racing over 2000m at Murray Bridge a fortnight back, landing on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Giggenbach. Back in trip suits, lands near the front and only runs well.

5 Classy Claret (Bet Now: $20.00) steps up to 1800m after racing three weeks back at Murray Bridge where he got a fair way out of his ground and was never really a factor behind Blackjack. If he can settle closer, be within reach, he’s dangerous at odds.

10 Girls Girls Girls (Bet Now: $8.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. She won over 2100m at Gawler last time, giving her rivals a start and a beating and finished best to score. 2500m should be fine, she is down in the weights and should run a positive race.

2 Arugamama (Bet Now: $13.00) steps up to 2500m after racing over 2000m at Murray Bridge. She got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, I thought she was far from disgraced in defeat behind Giggenbach. Like the rise in trip for her, she commands respect.

1 Kirkliston Blu (Bet Now: $21.00) was plain behind Giggenback at Murray Bridge two weeks back, doing too much work in the run and was a tired horse late in the piece. Think with a better run in transit, he’s a first four contender.

12 Harmonic Dancer (Bet Now: $1.90) looks one of the better bets on the program. He ran over 1050m here five weeks ago, sitting off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Fill A Promise. The rise to 1200m off a break I find interesting but this looks a race well within reach.

13 Simply Sid (Bet Now: $31.00) steps up to 1200m after a win over 1050m at Balaklava, giving his rivals a start and a beating in an impressive performance. If he does handle the rise to 1200m, he’s one of the leading contenders.

7 Four On The Floor (Bet Now: $41.00) is a first four threat for Gary Boyce. He is several weeks between runs since racing at Gawler when leading and giving a sight but just felt the pinch late when third. Not sure he wins but is one for exotics.

6 Real Deluxe (Bet Now: $11.00) should run really well against these I feel. Five weeks between runs since contesting the Whylie when on speed and tried hard but was just outclassed late behind Sir Now. Back to benchmark grade, good racing style, I think she’ll run really well.

10 Up The Den (Bet Now: $5.00) was impressive at Murray Bridge three weeks ago. He landed near the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. His confidence is up, he goe on with it.

2 Gold Spirit (Bet Now: $26.00) was a real eye catcher three weeks back at Murray Bridge when first up behind Up The Den. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, his finale was really good. If within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

11 Florey (Bet Now: $19.00) is third up from a spell and is bursting to win. She ran three weeks ago at Murray Bridge over 1400m, getting off speed and kept chasing in a really good effort in defeat when third to Final Countdown. Hard fit, rising in trip, she takes beating.

12 Somewhere Soon (Bet Now: $17.00) is four weeks between runs since a win on the Parks track, landing in a plum spot before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. If she can translate that to the course proper, she only runs well.

5 Yasuke (Bet Now: $12.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He ran over 1400m three weeks back at Murray Bridge, getting a fair way back but was okay late without threatening. Fitter and up to the mile, not dismissing.

9 Richie D’Amour (Bet Now: $21.00) takes beating here I say. He was a total forgive two weeks ago at Murray Bridge when back and wide but kept surging and kept finding the line in defeat. Better run in transit, he’ll take holding out.

7 Anotherhouse (Bet Now: $16.00) was an impressive winner at Murray Bridge a fortnight back, getting the sweet sit in transit near the speed before being clicked up and he found under pressure to score. His confidence is up, he can go on with it.

8 Big Brute (Bet Now: $23.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming over 1000m at Murray Bridge where he got a fair way out of his ground and was okay late without threatening. Fitter and up in trip, he runs well at a price.
