The feature race at Randwick this Saturday is the Winx Stakes (1400m), where Autumn Glow is a clear favourite.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for 2026 Winx Stakes.
2026 Winx Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Ceolwulf: Class horse but he’s not here to play.
2. Gringotts: I don’t think he wins but he will be sitting on speed and the trial work indicates he’s forward enough to run a positive race.
3. Lindermann: He is absolutely humming this horse, but just don’t think he’s sharp enough to win.
4. Midnight Dynamite: Hard fit, racing so well…I doubt he wins but can run first four.
5. Beiwacht: Beiwacht will run a bold race from on speed. I think they’ve found the key to him in that he is a 1400m horse that rolls on speed. He ended last prep on a high, taking out the All Aged from the front. He’ll land on the bunny here and run a beauty.
6. Autumn Boy: Autumn Boy is a class galloper for Chris Waller that resumes. He was pretty strong when last in work, highlighted by a Rosehill Guineas triumph. Likely will spot them a start but should be strong at the end.
7. Green Spaces: Caulfield Cup favourite who will get back to near last and launch late. One to watch.
8. Autumn Glow: Hard to get away from Autumn Glow. She was stunning in the Autumn, and many have been quick to somewhat dismiss her after the QEll. That was her first look at 2000m, and it was brutally run. She got beaten but was just as good in defeat as she was in winning beforehand IMO. Trials have been super, she is elite fresh…good luck beating her. Get back on the Baby Winx train.
9. Aeliana: Keen to see Aeliana resume with an eye towards the Cox Plate. She is a star mare in her own right and loved the way she moved in a recent trial…just needs luck from the gate and I think she’ll run very well.
10. Fangirl: Star mare but think she is up against it here.
11. Idle Flyer: Great mare but don’t think she’s here to play.
12. Lady Shenandoah: Very honest mare who maps to do no work. One for exotics. Just not sure she is good enough to win.
13. Barnavara: She should be retired.
14. Sheza Alibi: Bambi was shot when Sir Delius won the Queen Elizabeth. If she is indeed world class, too good, but me personally, pre this weekend, Sheza Alibi is incredibly overrated. Visually and data wise, stunning, but that Doncaster win…she did carry 49kg. No place to hide now taking on the big boys and girls, now at WFA, and could get buried back on the fence. If she wins, too good, but I am very much against her.

2026 Winx Stakes Speed Map
Looks pretty straight forward here. Lindermann is drawn wide and will likely come across, sitting outside Beiwacht. Midnight Dynamite should lob handy. Sheza Alibi is drawn inside…will she be able to kick up and hold a spot? Or get buried back? Autumn Glow lands in a plum spot.
