25/7/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville, Lightning Stakes day

Nine races will be run and won at Morphettville this Saturday for Lightning Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out nine metres from the 1200m-Winning Post; Out six metres for the remainder.

6 Brimarvi Rosemarie (Bet Now: $10.00) is racing well and is a key threat after racing over 1100m at Murray Bridge three weeks ago when off speed and chased with purpose in the straight when third to Restless Wind. 1200m should be fine and this looks a race well within reach.

9 Grinzinger Halo (Bet Now: $7.50) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday on the Parks track. She got beaten for early toe but I really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Big Sue. If within range, she has the finale to be dangerous.

5 Embellisher (Bet Now: $15.00) ran fourth to Cool Magnum two weeks back. He got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight but couldn’t quite get there. He’s racing in solid enough form and for mine is a knockout hope here.

4 Harsh (Bet Now: $1.90) was 2500m back to 2100m at Sandown last time and kept chasing with purpose in the straight but was held when third to Parvati Party. Back up in trip and back a fair way in depth, she’ll be hard to beat.

1 Miracle Spin (Bet Now: $3.50) is on the seven day back up after a win last Saturday on the Parks track, handling the bog best and class came to the fore, landing bets at odds. The rise to 2500m should be fine and this is a race within reach.

5 Smiling Assassin (Bet Now: $12.00) ran last to Miracle Spin last Saturday. He was off speed and was never really likely, plodding in the run to the line. Back up in trip, prior efforts were sound, he’s one for exotics.

1 Sir Now (Bet Now: $2.00) should be winning. He ran a beauty in the Monash at Caulfield, hailed as the winner but was nabbed late when third. Back home, he’s so well in at the weights…he’s the winner if there is petrol left in the tank.

5 Cicala (Bet Now: $3.10) should be better for the first up run, which came at Sandown over 1000m. She landed just off speed from the wide gate and felt the pinch behind Bazaball Rewarded. Better for the run, has a touch of quality, good upside, she’s a key chance.

3 Volcanic Express (Bet Now: $8.50) is four weeks between runs since racing over 1000m on the Parks track where he got back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose behind Omaha Dawn. Tick over trial was very good and will be strong late.

No reason why 12 Silver Chaos (Bet Now: $3.40) won’t measure up and win again. This mare spanked them on the Parks track two weeks ago, sitting off speed, but was wide, yet cruised up to them and put them away. Maps ideally, she’s top seed for me.

3 Cool Magnum (Bet Now: $5.50) is in the mix for the Hickmott/Riggs camp after a dominant win two weeks back on the Parks track, lapping up the mud and gave his rivals a spanking. If he can maintain his form, he’s one of the leading chances.

10 Wild Winner (Bet Now: $61.00) should be better for the first up run, which saw her run last behind Silver Chaos where she had a decent run in transit but whacked and was never likely. Her best is good enough so I am not dismissing.

4 Orlova (Bet Now: $4.60) comes back to the mile after racing over 2000m at Caulfield two weeks ago. She got into a decent spot just off speed but whacked and struggled on the shifty track behind Ichnusa. Back home and back in trip, she takes beating if she has petrol left in the tank.

9 Glouf (Bet Now: $8.50) should love getting to the mile. His two runs back have been indifferent, getting a mile out of his ground but has worked home very strongly late. He’s racing like 1600m suits and has good upside to come.

1 Oak Park Maddison (Bet Now: $6.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1250m last Saturday on the Parks track where she found them a bit sharp but stayed on and kept finding the line in defeat. Love the rise in trip, bigger track, can settle closer and be effective late.

9 Never Ordinary (Bet Now: $4.00) takes beating here at the short course for Byron Cozamanis. She was a sharp shooter during the Adelaide Carnival, mainly over this trip. Looks like a clear target race and with the pull in the weights, I think she only runs well.

11 Jacaranda (Bet Now: $5.00) is in the mix for Team Hayes. This filly did some nice things when racing in the Autumn and comes here off the back of a couple of jumpouts. Bred to handle wet ground, maps ideally and should be strong late.

4 Cavalry Girl (Bet Now: $2.60) lands on speed and only runs well, as seen two weeks ago Caulfield when on speed and gave a good kick under Williams but just felt the pinch late in the piece when second to Signature Scent. Good racing style, she’ll be around the mark.

8 Lomax (Bet Now: $12.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Murray Bridge. He got too far out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat when fourth to Brave Star. He’ll spot them a start but if he can be within range, he’s got the finale to take this out.

10 Falanghina (Bet Now: $11.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. That win came a few weeks ago on the Parks track, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. She’ll spot them a start but launch late and can definitely win again.

6 Nasho (Bet Now: $27.00) ran over 1550m two weeks back on the Parks track, attempting to lead throughout and he gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Willybeafactor. Hard fit, good racing style, he’s dangerous at odds.

15 Cradle Of Jazz (Bet Now: $5.50) should prove hard to beat after a win at the midweeks over this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Her confidence is up, she can go on with it.

6 Albanian I Am (Bet Now: $5.00) commands respect. He ran over 1760m at Geelong last start when off speed and kept chasing in the straight when second to Miss Trustful. Back in trip is fine, kind map, he can take this out.

7 Crown Mint (Bet Now: $13.00) ran over 1550m last Saturday on the Parks and was good from off the pace, working home well late in the piece. Like him back on the bigger track, he can be strong late…knockout hope.

2 Tobikko (Bet Now: $2.70) is knocking on the door big time. He ran second two weeks ago on the Parks track, driving hard late from off speed but just missed when second to Bardigrub. He’ll be strong late and with room to move, he’ll take holding out.

3 Eeny Meeny (Bet Now: $3.50) is a key threat. Debut win was on June 10 at Sale, landing on speed and he found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. Tick over jumpout was quite good and despite a wide draw, will press forward and run very well.

6 Kalasec (Bet Now: $17.00) is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got a fair way out of his ground but was pretty good late without threatening behind Mansiere. If within range, he can launch late and a win wouldn’t shock.
