High-profile American thoroughbred owner John Stewart has made headlines on social network X with his bold prediction that the highly anticipated Snitzel colt out of champion mare Winx could fetch between $15 million and $20 million when he goes under the hammer at the 2026 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Stewart, who has made a significant impact on the global bloodstock market through his Resolute Racing operation, is no stranger to making ambitious plays in the sales ring. However, even by his standards, his valuation of Winx’s latest progeny has set tongues wagging across the thoroughbred industry.

“Attention Australian syndicates. After consulting with some people that have seen the Winx colt by Snitzel, there could be an argument that he could stand as a stallion without racing,” prominent owner John Stewart said. “I think he could break the record and bring $15–20 million at the Inglis Easter Sale.”

The colt, by champion sire Snitzel, is Winx’s first male offspring and will be offered for public auction for the first time, making him one of the most anticipated lots in recent memory. Winx, a four-time Cox Plate winner and 25-time Group 1 champion, has already cemented her legacy as one of the greatest mares in racing history.

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch has confirmed the colt will be offered at the 2026 Easter Yearling Sale at Riverside Stables, describing him as the “focal point” of the sale.

While Australian yearling sales have seen several seven-figure results, a sale price upwards of $15 million would smash all existing records set by Winx’s first foal a filly by Pierro who fetched $10 million.
