21/6/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Pinjarra, Strickland Stakes day

Bludger of a two year old race to start the meeting. 1 Playin’itsweet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) does pick herself though. Two weeks between runs since a dominant win here where she gave them a start and a beating, producing a brilliant finale to win impressively. Extra 100m should be fine, she’s clearly the one to beat.

3 Faradio (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since debuting at Belmont when off speed and while he was never a winning threat. he kept chasing and was good in defeat behind Too Darn Stormy. Better for the run and up in trip, he’s in the mix.

10 Sister Mary (Bet Now:  $SP.00) debuted in the Playin’itsweet race mentioned above. She got off speed and kept chasing. Was never winning but she stayed on and was sound enough at start one. Fitter and up in distance, she’s in the mix.

6 Best Of The Gods (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He ran over 1200m last Wednesday at Bunbury where he got back in the run but made up decent headway in a strong effort in defeat when second. Like him up in trip and strikes a winnable race.

2 Money Trees (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a rise to 1400m will suit. He ran over 1200m here a fortnight back. He got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort behind History Won’t Care. Good upside to come and up in trip, he takes beating.

4 Cobbanco (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the History Won’t Care race from two weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Can settle closer in the run, dangerous.

1 Fat Roy Slim (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to bounce back. I thought he’d run really well two weeks ago at Pinjarra where the race shape was against him and he tried to get involved but was never really a threat behind Zaza Rock. Three time winner at the track and the big tick is Pike jumping back on.

4 First Encounter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciat a rise to 2000m. He ran over 1690m last Saturday at Bunbury where not much went right for him and it ended up being an ugly watch in the straight behind Famous Dain. The rise in trip, I think, is fine, and this isn’t a deep contest.

8 Duchess Demerit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a must for exotics. He ran behind Zaza Rock in the race mentioned above where the race shape was against him and although he did try hard, he was never really a factor. More genuine tempo here, he can improve.

5 Miss Skyhigh (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the good thing on the program. This mare resumed over 1400m here two weeks ago where she got a fair way out of her ground but I really liked the way she closed her race off in defeat behind Luvnwar. Fitter and up in trip, I think it’s a case of good luck beating her.

6 Simply (Bet Now:  $SP.00) might want more racing and a rise in trip, but he has good upside to come and does have a good record at the mile. He resumed over 1400m at Pinjarra a fortnight back when back in the run and keen, failing to finish his race off. His best is good enough to threaten so I wouldn’t sack her.

4 Frigid (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one for exotics. She attempted to lead throughout in the Luvnwar race, giving a decent kick from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Luvnwar. I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.

3 The Calabrese (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to measure up. Team Gangemi trained gelding that was a sharp winner over 1000m last Wednesday at Bunbury, giving them a start and a beating, letting down with very good change up speed to score. The rise to 1200m is fine, he’ll be strong late, leading contender.

4 Lucky I Am (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Jim Taylor and has earned a crack at this level after winning three on the bounce. Latest win was last Wednesdat over this trip at Bunbury, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in. Front end control, she’ll only run well.

9 Mister Raffles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Anzac Day over 1000m when near the speed and just felt the pinch late. He is a winner at 1200m and his best is good enough to threaten.

4 Want A Winner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to resume a winner for Team Casey. 2/2 to start his career with a spell in between, the second win being a dominant win at Ascot in February. Given a good break, trialled enormous and draws the right part of the track.

10 Magnique (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard fit and a short course specialist so she appeals. She ran second down the straight here two weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing but had to settle for a second to Repossession. Suited at the short course, she has to be respected.

2 Military Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a proven track/distance performer and has to be respected. He resumed over this trip two weeks back at Bunbury when near the speed throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Haida Gwaii. Lands near the front, only runs well.

I really like 10 Admiration Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way. She ran two weeks ago in the Hyperion and she was one of many that caught the eye but she really did catch the eye with her finale behind Western Empire. Like her up in trip and should be at peak fitness.

1 Western Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a big winner of the Hyperion given he was 1200m to 1600m and six weeks between runs, but the way he gave them a start and a beating was impressive. Enormous upside/improvement to come, he rates highly.

3 Hemlock Stone (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a sleeper at odds. He ran in the Hyperion two weeks back where he was near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good late. If he can settle closer in the run, be within range, he’s dangerous.

5 Earthstorm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran a narrow second to Pond Master a few weeks ago here. She had the suck run in behind before being presented clear air and she was hailed as the winner but she couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late. Her best is good enough and she strikes a winnable race.

3 Kelvinator (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Fred Kersley and is one of the key chances. He has won two on the bounce, the latest being three weeks ago here when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win quite well. Good racing style and hard to knock the way he’s racing.

14 Bohemian Diamond (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the race mentioned above that Kelvinator saluted in. She was wide no cover throughout and that hard run just told on her late in the piece. Better run in transit, she’s dangerous for sure.

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 10 Admiration Express
