10/5/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Gosford, The Coast day

Ten races will be run and won at Gosford on Saturday, headlined by The Coast (1600m). The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

6 Mad Darcey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate getting to 1200m and is one of the key chances for mine. She ran two weeks ago in the Midway at Randwick when off speed and he;d up at times but was good late without threatening behind impressive winner Sunrise. Like her up in trip and strikes a winnable race.

7 Duck Egg Blue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Team Freedman after racing in the South Pacific Classic when thrown in the deep end and she didn’t disgrace herself in defeat behind Sergeant Major. Has the strong form lines around her and this isn’t a deep Midway.

2 Oakfield Badger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Kristen Buchanan. He has been a model of consistency this time in, the latest run being over 1100m at Randwick in the Midway when a game second to Sunrise. If the 1200m is fine, which it should be, then he takes beating.

1 Sequista (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one here after racing in the Percy Sykes when first up. She did early work to land on speed and tried hard but condition just gave way late. Tricky gate again but should lead and prove hard to get past.

5 Tiberius (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs for Bjorn Baker since racing on debut at Wyong when just near the speed before getting the inside split and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Tick over trial was strong and is hard to beat against these.

4 Green Spaces (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to NSW for James Cummings after a first up win at Geelong where he landed in front and creidt to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to score. Good racing style and 1200m should be fine.

17 Atmospheric Rock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Danny Williams trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Gong Day at Kembla when down the track over 1200m at Kembla behind The Novelist. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and has trialled nicely.

4 Joiselle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Brett Cavanough. She ran in the Highway a fortnight back at Randwick and kept chasing with purpose from off the speed when third to Massira. Fitter and up in trip, in well after the claim, she appeals.

6 Carribean King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the March 1 Highway won by Speck at Randwick. He got back off speed and was held up at times before eventually finding the line and was good in defeat. He doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but will launch late.

10 Hurstville Zagreb (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a promising three year old that resumes, I dare say with QLD Derby aspirations. He is first up after going 2/2 during the Autumn, the latest win seeing him win over 1900m at Canterbury. Trial work has been strong and fresh at the mile signals intent.

Good test here for 4 Engine Room (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but he does look a promising animal for Bryce Heys that defied a betting drift to spank them on Aznac Day on the Kenso, getting better as the race went on. Good test here against likely types but confident he runs well.

8 Duvana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile after resuming over 1400m at Randwick two weeks back where he got back off the speed and while he was never a winning threat, he found the line and was good in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, he’s an improver.

15 Trapalanda (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love getting to 2100m after making his Australian debut over 1800m on Anzac Day on the Kenso. He got back off the speed and although he lacked up change up speed, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat I thought behind Collect Your Cash. Fitter, up in trip, enormous upside, he appeals.

2 So Dazzling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well for John Sargent and he can certainly take this out. She resumed two weeks ago over the mile at Randwick where she got back in the run and was held up at times but I really liked the way she closed off behind Know Thyself. Fitter and up in trip, she takes beating.

10 Fay’s Angels (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Hawkesbury where she got back in the run and tried to track into the race, presenting wider, but just whacked in the run to the line. Her best is good enough to threaten so don’t dismiss her.

12 Rantan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Ron Quinton trained filly that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Jan 18 at Rosehill when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Polyglot. Two sharp trials under the belt, keen to see how she goes.

7 Winning Proposal (Bet Now:  $SP.00)l is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Kristen Buchanan, she now finds herself with Bjorn Baker, a gun stable when it comes to tried horses. She looks to have trialled up very well for the return and is a short course specialist.

10 Lulumon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Jason Coyle trained mare that resumes. She last raced on Jan 18 at Rosehill when far from disgraced in defeat behind Perfumist. Can sprint well fresh and her recent trial work was more than encouraging.

3 Hezashocka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well for Price/Kent and should take beating here. He comes through the JRA Plate from three weeks ago at Randwick where the race shape wasn’t really to his liking but he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat behind Bois D’Argent. Racing well and is hard to beat against these.

2 New Endeavour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran third in the JRA Plate where he got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win but just lacked any real turn of foot and whacked in the run to the line behind Bois D’Argent. Hard fit now and has a touch of quality about him.

10 Touristic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since contesting the JRA Plate. He got off speed and just couldn’t get involved when down the track behind Bois D’Argent. His best is certainly good enough but he is nearing last chance territory.

10 Know Thyself (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. He is flying at present for the Messara/Gavranich camp, winning his past two at Randwick, firstly in the Country Championships Final before a strong win two weeks ago. Tricky draw, but is well weighted and this race isn’t deep.

2 Depth Of Character (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Team Archibald. He is on the seven day back up after winning last Saturday in the QLD Guineas where he got a sweet sit off speed before being asked feor the effort and away he went to spank them. Hard to beat if he holds his form.

1 Lady In Pink (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She ran second in the Queen Of The South two weeks back, trying quite hard but couldn’t quite get there behind Zloties. Form already franked, she’s in the mix.

9 Pereille (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy galloper for James Cummings that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Jan 11 in the Standish at Flemington down the straight when close up, far from disgraced in defeat behind It’sourtime. He is a very reliable fresh horse and has trialled up really well for the return.

1 Ostraka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is getting towards D Day and last chance territory. I was quite keen on his chances last time out in the Hall Mark at Randwick but after leading, he was quite weak late behind Mazu. I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be far more effective and can take this out.

3 Spacewalk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran in the Ascot Handicap three weeks ago at Eagle Farm. He got a good traling spot in the race and presented to win but just couldn’t quite get there behind King Kapa. I think the rise to 1200m suits and hard fit, he’s in the mix.

14 Accapella Sun (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She ran a fortnight back at Randwick where she didn’t really get the clearest of paths in the straight to let down so forgive and forget the run behind Memoria. I think if she gets clear air, room to move, she can win.

10 Raikkonen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy galloper for Bjorn Baker that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 28 when down the track in the Vo Rogue at Eagle Farm behind Give Me Space. Given a good break and has trialled up super for the return, so watch betting.

2 Deprivation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on the bunny and run a bold race. He was on speed two weeks back at Randwick and he tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when a narrow third to Step Aside. Good racing style and hard fit now, he’s right in the mix.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 12 Rantan

LONG SHOT: Race Ten Number 14 Accapella Sun
