The Sydney Cup promises to be an exciting contest with a full field of 22 runners expected to line up for the 3200m test.
Alalcance, fresh off her impressive win in the Chairman’s Handicap, is the early favourite and will be looking to confirm her dominance in the handicap.
Duke De Sessa, the Caulfield Cup winner, will have a strong say in the race, alongside Circle of Fire, last year’s Sydney Cup winner.
There are a few other strong contenders in the mix, including Cleveland, who has been booked with Jamie Melham to ride, and Warmonger, who will be piloted by Ashley Morgan.
Berkshire Breeze has been scratched, but many others are poised to make an impact.
