Scenic Point remains unbeaten following a last-to-first win at Caulfield.

The Lindsay Park stable of Ben, Will and J D Hayes is looking forward to the spring after Scenic Point kept her record intact with a stylish victory at Caulfield.

After scoring an impressive win at Pakenham on debut, Scenic Point headed to the Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes (1100m) on Saturday and treated her rivals with ease.

Settling last in the five-horse field under Daniel Stackhouse, Scenic Point, the $1.40 favourite, had the opposition covered early in the straight, running out the victor by a length.

Jye McNeil, rider of Aleppo Pine ($3.90) which was third across the line, fired in a protest against second home Mednyi ($15).

After a short deliberation, Racing Victoria stewards upheld the objection.

Will Hayes, representing the Lindsay Park team, said Scenic Point was a little more switched on than she was on debut at Pakenham.

“She got a little bit hot in the pre-parade which was a little bit different to Pakenham,” Hayes said.

“She’s certainly waking up and is on a big learning curve. I felt today, what she did, was on raw ability and there’s plenty of upside.”

Hayes said he and his brothers and other members of the Lindsay Park team would sit down on Monday to discuss options for Scenic Point.

He said Scenic Point had taken time to develop and was not ready for the rigours of a Blue Diamond Stakes or a Golden Slipper preparation.

But Hayes had not ruled out heading to Sydney for another Stakes race.

“We’ll be guided by how she pulls up, but the way she won today you wouldn’t hesitate to go to Sydney, but you also wouldn’t hesitate to put her in the paddock and protect her for the spring,” Hayes said.

“I think she’s a Thousand Guineas type.

“She’s one of those hamburgers with the lot at this stage. She’s shown she can sprint, and she might get out to a middle distance as well.

“She’s got a big frame. She screams three-year-old type and what she has done now is an absolute bonus.

“It’s all based on potential, but what we see is a very talented galloper.”
