7 United Front (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the straight bat option but not really a race worth spending time on. Kelly Schweida trained gelding that ran over this track/distance last time out where he was tucked in behind the speed and yes, was held up at times, but had his chance when third to Kapakiri. He has that 1800m run under the belt, Blinkers come off and this race is very much on the thin side.

11 Kalends (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a number of chances to break the maiden tag but she is a mare who is generally around the mark. She looked a moral last time at Gatton but she just got too far back and that is a no no at that track when second to Madam Magnolia. Think with a more positive ride, she can win…backing her to win is another matter.

6 Space Journey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout chance. Jesse Townsend trains this guy, who has had a couple of runs for the camp after formerly being with Team Corstens in Victoria. Latest run was over 2200m at Ipswich when near the speed and battled away strongly when second to Another Dazzler. Back in trip should be fine, does no work from the gate and will be strong at the end.

7 Sunset Soiree (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top. Tony Gollan trained mare that was teasing to win a race and it came at this track/distance just over two weeks ago where she landed in a plum spot under Thompson before angling into clear air and in a driving finish, she was too good. The depth here has thinned right out after scratchings, she maps to do no work, in form…the one to beat.

2 Whodat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Matty Dunn trained gelding that comes here off a Highway win over 1800m at Randwick where he gave them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose from off the speed to win and win well. The depth wasn’t there, neither here either, and off a win, I think he has to be rated as one of the leading contenders.

4 Coup De Tonnerre (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is finding it hard to win but he should be around the mark. His last couple of runs have come over the 1800m at the Sunny Coast, the latest seeing him sit on speed throughout and looked home but was nabbed late when a close up second to Early Thoughts. I think with a more conservative steer, a bunny to chase, he’s dangerous IMO.

6 Town Crier (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one to beat. O’Dea/Hoysted trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since June 28 when a sharp winner over 1200m here, sitting on speed before being clicked up and was impressive in the run to the line, winning and winning well. Given a break straight away, trial was strong and Blinkers on first up, there is clear intent IMO.

8 Femme Fatale (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Kelly Schweida and is dangerous. All three career outings have come at the Sunny Coast over 1000m, winning the first two impressively before a tiring fifth to Defiant Spirit and was spelled soon after. Trial win here last week was strong to the eye, she’ll land on speed and look the winner for a long way.

1 Mishani Raider (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting watch. He resumes for Les Ross, having not raced since the 2YO Jewel in March when outclassed, finishing down the track behind Mishani Royale. Hasn’t been seen since an August 15 trial so I think you have to watch the market and see whether it tells you if he’s ready or not.

7 Deep Rouge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) brings quality Saturday metro/metro form in general and I reckon that will be enough to get her first up win. She resumes for Barry Lockwood, having not raced since August 19 when back off the speed and found the line well without threatening when a close up fourth to Star Of Chaos. She is a mare who can sprint very well fresh and with a lovely trial under the belt, she will do me.

1 Perfect Mission (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very, very interesting runner. Annabel Neasham trains this mare, who hasn’t raced since the 2022 Magic Millions at the Gold Coast when far from disgraced in defeat when fourth to Coolangatta. She had two trials in August and looked sharp there before having a mini break and trialling last week at Eagle Farm where she moved pretty well to my eye. Market will be fascinating so keen to see how she goes.

4 Pacific Padrino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will likely be spotting them a start but he will be very strong at the end I am sure. First run for Adam Campton came over 1100m at Ipswich where he got a fair way back in the run but made up good ground late in the piece behind Hardware Lane, a pretty solid short course sprinter. If the inside gate is used to advantage, he’s certainly dangerous.

9 Ever So Clever (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth an each way speck for mine. Tony Gollan trained mare that has been solid in two runs back from a spell, resuming over 800m at Ipswich before going to 1000m here where each time she has seen her got back in the run and made up solid headway without threatening. Like her up to 1200m and if she can settle closer in the run, she’ll be dangerous.

6 Impendor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like he has an engine under the hood for Matty Dunn. He debuted over 1000m here when unwanted in betting but despite having no friends in the market, I thought he was quite good late in the piece behind Tycoon Mistress in a strong debut. Fitter and up to 1200m, it all points to him running well.

3 Hulkamania (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to be entertained for wider multiples. He resumed on the Gold Coast Poly when heavily backed but seemingly had every chance from off the speed when a close up third to Rephrase. Better for the run under the belt and he does have the 1200m lead in, which should hold him in good stead for this.

Each way for me here via 8 Sea Ripple (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He ran over 1300m here several weeks ago where she was dragged back from the wide gate and did make up some headway but was never really a factor behind Blakmax in a solid effort. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and I do think rising to 1600m is a big, big tick. Each way for me.

3 My Pins (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned in pretty good order for Bevan Laming. Gave them an absolute spanking first up at Beaudesert before racing here where he stepped up big time in grade/depth but he stayed on and was quite sound in defeat behind a very much in form Rising Pacific. Tricky gate, but should slide forward and take beating.

4 Moktaffy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another chance for Chris Waller. Interesting ride from Orman when resuming a few weeks ago over 1400m here, making a mid race move from the back to lead and gave a mini kick but being first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Better for the run under the belt and with a more patient steer, he can run a much improved race.

8 Winsome Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in a three start career for Symons/Laxon and rates as one of the leading contenders. He ran at this track/distance last Wednesday where he got back in the small field but got clear and launched late, just missing out on the win when second to Bandasha. He doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but certainly has the finale to launch over the top.

4 Warby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 1400m for Tony Gollan. He has shown good talent since day one but upstairs, he hasn’t been 100%. He resumed over 1200m here at the midweeks where he got back to near last in the run and did make up good ground but spotted them too much head start behind Jump’n Fly. Fitter and up to 1400m, hard to beat with a more positive steer.

5 Brasco (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver. He comes through the Jump’n Fly race mentioned above where he was similar to Warby in the sense that he got back in the run and was solid late but seemingly had his chance. Pacifiers are on to try and sharpen him up…not sure I could back him to win but he is a must for exotics.

2 Unzaga (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has tended to save his best for the Gold Coast Poly recently but this is a bludger of a race and he is a stayer so I am leaning his way. His latest run came over 1900m at the Gold Coast Poly where he gave them a significant start and a significant beating in what was such an impressive effort. I think 2400m will be ideal and in a thin race, he is the each way bet.

9 Classic Deel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) brings the midweek metro form from Sydney, which clearly reads well for a race like this. Latest run was over 2400m on the Kenso at Randwick where she didn’t stop chasing and was game in defeat behind all the way winner Father’s Day. She has the 2400m lead ups runs under the belt, hard fit, maps ideally…hard to beat.

10 I Prefer Minties (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few runs at 1800m and for mine she is racing like she wants more ground, which she gets here. Latest run was a couple of weeks back here when back and making up ground without threatening behind stablemate Sunset Soiree. I don’t think she can win, but she can pinch a first four spot.

3 Mob Buster (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me in the get out. Gary Doughty trained gelding that brings solid Saturday metro form into this, the latest run seeing him far from disgraced in defeat behind Cottee after getting keen in the run. That was over 1600m, so sharply back to 1200m I find interesting but he brings an element of class and will be strong at the end.

12 Tranquil Bay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be suited back to 1200m for Rob Heathcoate. He is a couple of weeks between runs since racing over 1400m here where she seemingly had every chance in behind the speed but couldn’t quite get there behind Launch Pad. Maps to get a suck run in transit and her record does suggest 1200m is her go in life. With that in mind, she’s hard to beat.

13 Terrameades (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks very hard to beat here for Kris Lees IMO. Her recent runs have come at Newcastle, letting down hard to win two back before a total forgive last time where she got too far back in the run and did make ground without threatening in a solid effort. Should land in a plum spot here and for mine, she brings strong form lines.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 7 Sunset Soiree

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 8 Sea Ripple
