Yulong Farm’s Alabama Express filly, donning an exquisite white coat, has become the talk of the racing world, captivating all who set eyes on her at the renowned Mangalore farm.
Ben Gunn, Yulong Stud Manager, revealed that the filly’s dam, Utzon, a white mare from The Opera House damline, surprised everyone by giving birth to the unexpected white foal after being mated with Alabama Express last season.
“Utzon herself is white, but she was yet to have a white foal.” Gunn told racing.com.
“She has been to Grunt previously, and Alabama Express is a bay horse, so nobody expected to get a white foal, so the fact we did was very exciting,”
The rare appearance of a white foal has brought immense pride and joy to Yulong Farm, with the farm’s owner, Mr. Zhang, particularly thrilled with the unique addition.
White horses are exceptionally uncommon, making this filly a treasured gem for the farm.
Amidst growing curiosity, Yulong Farm faces the pivotal decision of whether to sell the filly as a yearling or retain her to race under the prestigious Yulong silks.
