Proscenium Arch has raced on three occasions for a debut win at Sandown and two third placings

Proscenium Arch and Bonheur will attempt to give Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young a second win in the Thousand Guineas Prelude at Caulfield.

Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young know what it takes to win the Thousand Guineas Prelude with a filly at double figure odds.

Acting scored as a $21 chance in the Group 2 race over 1400m in 2019 and the stable has dual representation at Caulfield on Saturday through Proscenium Arch and Bonheur.

Both are currently $13 chances with TAB behind New Zealand raider She’s Licketysplit ($5).

Young said Proscenium Arch found a new way to be beaten when a close third at Moonee Valley on September 3 and the stable has decided to add blinkers to her gear on Saturday.

“She was a little bit new around The Valley but she also had a little look at a person on the inside of the track,” Young said.

“We’ve put a set of shades on her. We put them on her on Saturday and she worked up super and then she had a gallop with Bonheur on Tuesday.

“Bonheur probably just had the little better of her, but we left the shades off.

“There’s not much between them and they both have nice gates, so they should get their chance.”

Proscenium Arch has raced on three occasions for a debut win at Sandown and two third placings.

Sandwiched between her win at Sandown and her placing at The Valley was a third behind Berekley Square at Flemington who was again successful at that track last week.

Young expects dropping back to 1400m to be advantageous to Proscenium Arch.

Bonheur started her campaign with a ‘soft kill’ in maiden grade at Moe which the stable hopes has given the filly some confidence ahead of Saturday’s contest.

“Jye (McNeil) said she floated a bit when she got to the front, but I think she’ll take good improvement from that, and you wouldn’t get a horse work any better than her on Tuesday,” Young said.

“Acting won this race at a good price a few years back, so it would be good to replicate that again.”
