Trial form is contentious, I get that.
But at Rosehill yesterday the global superstar NATURE STRIP (Nicconi – Strikeline) stepped out over 900m and after leading under restraint, went to the line held together beaten a nose by Gr 1 winner WILD RULER (Snitzel – Gypsy Robin).
They both hit the line coming home under double-wraps in a juicy 34.39sec and both look back to their best.
So get on when they race.
But the run of the trial was the unbeaten filly ESPIONA (Extreme Choice – Dahooil).
With Kathy O’Hara on top, she railed through from near the rear to finish 3rd and she too wasn’t asked to extend a great deal.
Unlike the others, both experienced, hardened Gr 1 campaigners, she has raced just twice and is only a 3YO filly.
Yet she looked like she could have run past the two superstars if Kath had wanted her too.
As it was she was only 3/4 of a length back in 3rd and had a host of Gr 1 runners behind her.
Watch 📺 Espiona in purple and white looked awesome running 3rd 👇
All three will win this prep and she may beat them all in the TJ Smith if plans unfold that way.
