We all know horses love to run, and they love to run in herds.
At the Sunshine Coast today, a riderless horse took off after 300m and circled the field.
In doing so she fired up the leader CHIVARGO (Deep Field-Western Gem) who took control of experienced rider Robbie Fradd and tried to race the riderless horse.
They accelerated so much so they dropped the field by a huge margin.
Incidentally, that mare Villeneuve Lady lost her jock apprentice Sheriden Tomlinson seconds after jumping away. Tomlinson was standing shortly afterwards.
Luckily the loose horse caused no bother to any other runner, but when she streaked around them and took control of the race, Chivargo went after her.
She was six lengths clear of her rivals as they turned and she just kept trying to chase the loose horse down.
What she did resulted in her beating the others quite comfortably.

She never did catch Villeneuve Lady whose streaking away a jock proved a performance enhancer for Chivargo.
Which didn’t upset many punters as she started at $3.80. She beat Dreamtime Magic and Maestoso.
