A text message that circulated through the racing community has sparked a plunge on a first starter at Sale on Thursday.
The circulated text message gave a very strong push for first starter Barocha in Race Two at Sale on Thursday which has seen the Clayton Douglas trained galloper shorten from his $6 opening price into $1.70 with the TAB.
‘4yo 1st starter WILL win without getting out of 2nd gear. $2.3 up to about $2.5 with an odds boost if you can. Do it now or soon.’
Online bookmaker Sportsbet opened their markets later than the TAB’s but have also succumb to the plunge with the early price of $2.70 slashed into $1.65.
Since the text was sent the TAB has received multiple big bets on the son of Ilovethiscity with the TAB reporting that 96.5% of the hold on the race is on Barocha.
